Technology, my opinion

What do I think of technology? I think there is nothing wrong with it. All it does is make life easier. I truthfully don't think many people disagree with my opinion, but for those of you that do, I will explain why I think this. Technology is,in a way, the future. When we look at a touch screen on an Ipod, most of us would think "wow that's so cool!" but questions may pop into our heads. Questions like "how does that work?" or "How much money did it take to make this?" When we try to answer these questions we might discover something new and we might create our own product. The point that I'm trying to make is that technology can help the economy. Money will be made, more jobs will be created and the economy will slowly, but surely, get better. Now for those of you that disagree with my opinion you may not be completely forgotten in this post. One bad thing about technology is people are becoming to be fat. People spend so many hours watching T.V or playing video games that they just don't exercise. There are good and bad sides to technology but overall I think that technology is a good thing. without it how could we make a good life for ourselves? We need technology for everything. I don't think I could live without technology. S once again my opinion on technology is it is a good thing and hard to live without.

Beat Street

The movie beat street was made in 1984 and filmed in south Bronx, New York City. I personally think the movie was terrible. The movie made no sense and they randomly broke into song and dance at the strangest times. One question that stuck in my head was "whats the plot?" unfortunately that question was never answered. I am not trying to criticize the singing and dancing because it was pretty good. But, It was to random. This movie does emphasize the graffiti era in new york city as well as how hip hop was created. I'm not a huge hip hop fan. That's why this blog is, or is supposed to be, about rock music. But there was one song that I really did like during the movie. I can't remember what the song was called but it was right after the part where they RANDOMLY started dancing on the subway. One scene that I did like and think everyone should look out for (if you actually want to watch this movie) is the club scene. I really don't know what it was that made me remember this scene, but something stuck with me and made me remember it. If I had to Rate this movie out of 5, I wold give it a 2. That's being generous. It was like high school musical of the 80's. The actors may have been well cast and they did an OK job but the movie itself was awful. Well I think I got my point across.

The website i have chosen to blog about is http://www.playlist.com/. I like this website because you can listen to almost any song. I recently found this website and I really liked it. It's well organized and you can find any song. Most websites want you to fill out a survey or something like that but this website brings you straight to the music. but the best part is, you can make a playlist and listen to it while you do whatever on your computer. Right now I'm listening to a playlist while posting this blog. I strongly suggest anyone reading this should visit this website. One cool feature is that you can get the ringtones for the songs that your listening to. If you like rap, rock, hip hop, jazz, whatever you'll find it on this website. If I had to rate it out of 10 i would give it a 9.5 No doubt. In my previous post I said that I would post a link to Highway to hell (which is ironic because I'm actually listening to it right now on playlist.com) so that's going to be next week. The reason I really like this website is because while I blog I can listen to it. So when i got this assignment I knew exactly what to do. Playlist.com has the best songs and I have never had trouble finding a song, author or album. My playlist Includes:

Highway to Hell

Crazy Train

Watchin the wheels

Panama
Walk this Way
and many more. I showed you those songs becaause i wanted you to literally know any song you may like will be on this website. Wait, did i mention the best part? Oh yeah.... IT'S FREE! I personally think it's the great for when you have a party because you get to choose the songs and than not worry about going back and forth to change the radio station. If you click on the link above it will take you straight to the website and you can make your own playlist. (I guess the was kind of obvious) Next week i will try to post Highway to Hell-ACDC.

Hey Jude

Today the song I have chosen is one of the top rated Beatles songs of all time. The reason this is the first song I choose, is because i recently made a bet with a friend. The bet was that I couldn't memorize ten Beatles songs. This song was the one that got stuck in my head. The song's original lyrics were not hey Jude. In fact it was Hey Jules. Jules is short for Julian who was john Lennon's son. John Lennon and his wife were going through a divorce and the song was written by Paul McCartney to comfort "Jules." Later, Paul realized that Jude sounded better and the band seemed to agree. This is one of my favorite Beatles songs out of the 300 written or recorded by the Beatles.

Beatles background:

The Beatles are from Britain, as you may have known. But, even though many of the bands famous in the united states are from Britain, the Beatles were different. They weren't like any other band. Band shouldn't even to be used to describe them. The Beatles actually cared about the world and the people around them. Right is a picture of the Beatles' peace symbol on one of their famous world peace tours. John Lennon was probably the most sympathetic out of the band.

The song " Hey Jude" was realesed as a single in 1968. It was orignally being recorded for an album "The Bealtes" also known as "The White Album"

Next week i will be featuring the song Highway To Hell by ACDC

The future of this blog

This is my first post on this account and i have nothing. Normally i would post videos and links to songs and explain the background of the song. Bands like Coldplay or The Beatles, Led Zepplin or Pink Floyd. The reason I can't post these videos is that I'm on my school computer and this computer blocks youtube. But in the future i will post videos, ask for opinions, and also ask for suggestions. Another thing i will do is i will research why the song was written and what inspired the band. Most of the videos will have the lyrics or the original music video.

One thing that I would hope you, the reader, to do is suggest songs or bands that you think would fit nicely into this blog. If you like or dislike the songs i post please comment. The way this will work is that everytime someone gives me a song i will listen to it and if i like it i will find the lyrics and post it. I will also give a special thanks to the person who suggested the song. here is a preview of some upcoming songs:

Stairway to heaven- Led Zepplin

Hey Jude-Beatles

Walk this way- Aerosmith

Highway to hell- ACDC

and
Crazy train-Ozzy Osbourne

Of coarse that's only a few of the many, many songs that will be on this blog. Every few days a new song will be posted with a link to a video. This has been my first post and until next time.
